🩺
Wellness Exams

Annual or bi-annual exams are important to catch signs of early disease. Catching teeth spurs early vs. late may mean the difference between a simple diet change vs. more serious complications like gut stasis.

  • Full physical exam
  • Preliminary dental assessment including molar spurs in rabbits and guinea pigs
(*Note that a full oral exam requires sedation)
  • Husbandry guidance and other advice
💉
Vaccinations

Vaccinations are important to prevent serious and fatal diseases such as rabies, rabbit hemorrhagic disease, and ferret distemper. Routine parasite treatment is important to prevent flea infestations and insect-borne diseases such as Lyme.

  • We carry most vaccines for rabbits, ferrets, cats, and dogs
  • Vaccine certificates and certificates for travel
  • Parasite prevention discussion
⚠️ Parasites and the diseases we vaccinate against can affect indoor pets as well.

Diagnostics

Physical exams can only reveal so much. Often further diagnostics are required to investigate further. We can provide all tests offered by external labs.

  • Blood tests — CBC & full biochemistry panels
  • Urinalysis — kidney function, crystals, infections
  • Fecal tests for parasites & other infectious agents
  • Microscopy & cytology
  • Referral to a partner clinic if X-ray or ultrasound is indicated
🤒
Sick Pet Exams

Home visits avoids the compounding stress of transport when your pet is already sick.

  • Thorough and non-rushed assessment of your ill pet
  • GI stasis evaluation & treatment — a life-threatening emergency
  • On-the-spot treatment and referral if needed
  • Follow-up calls to check in after the visit
⚠️ Depending on the cause, the prognosis in gut stasis cases can drop dramatically by each hour. Contact us as soon as something seems wrong.

Minor Procedures

Many common interventions can be performed safely and gently at home. Recovery also begins somewhere comfortable and familiar.

  • Minor wound and abscess management
  • Subcutaneous fluid therapy
  • Nail trims, anal gland expression, and minor grooming
  • Incisor trimming
  • Bandaging and cast placements
  • Microchip implantation
Some procedures require sedation.
