Long before my veterinary journey, I was volunteering at a clinic when a rat came in as a walk-in emergency. The staff did everything they could, but without specialized knowledge of exotics, the little guy didn't make it. It was then that I realized there were not enough exotic vets. Someone needed to look out for the little ones because they deserve the same treatment as any other animal.
I graduated in 2018 from Melbourne, Australia and have spent my career since then making sure I became that someone. Since graduation, I've practised in exotic-friendly clinics, shelter medicine, locuming, non-profits, and general practice. In addition, I strive to study daily to continuously increase my veterinary knowledge to be the best vet I can be.
When I'm not working, you'll find me practising electric violin, playing badminton, or hanging out with my cat, Kindle. On sunny days, you might also catch me riding my motorcycle around town!
The idea for WhiskerSong came about after many years working as a veterinarian and feeling that the personal and compassionate side of the field was starting to dissipate. WhiskerSong is here to focus on building bridges with pet owners and their animals and to work with them on their pet's treatment journey. Successful outcomes are built on collaboration after all!
A mobile practice opens the doors to consults that are not rushed, less stressful for the pet, and better understanding of the owner's situation to help as best we can without judgment. WhiskerSong is about taking the proper amount of time to investigate each case and restricting the number of daily appointments so each pet can get equal and sufficient attention.
So whether it's a simple wellness check or a complicated illness, every pet gets a vet who genuinely wants to help and isn't watching the clock.
