About Our Service
  • We serve Richmond, Vancouver, Delta, Burnaby, Surrey, and the surrounding Lower Mainland. Please contact us if you're unsure if your address falls within our service area.
  • WhiskerSong is focused on exotic small mammals (i.e. Pocket pets). This includes rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, chinchillas, rats/mice and other rodents, hedgehogs, and sugar gliders. We do also see cats and dogs as well!
  • After booking, you will be emailed a new client form (if you are a first-time client) and/or an appointment form to fill out. We will discuss the day and time frame for the visit and the vet will show up within the time window at your home with all the necessary equipment. WhiskerSong is a house call service so all services will be performed in your home. Most appointments are 30–60 minutes but we do not rush.
Bookings & Pricing
  • Please see our 'Book a Visit' page using the button on the top right of the website.
  • Yes, there is a call out fee that is separate from other charges to cover equipment and vehicle prep, travel time, fuel, and commercial insurance costs. The fee is dependent on distance from Richmond (where our home base is). Please see our pricing page for travel fee pricing.
  • We accept e-transfer (preferred), Visa, Mastercard, and cash. Please note we do not carry change for any cash transactions.
During the Visit
  • Please have a space ready on the ground level for the consult. A table is preferable for pets under 15kg (33lbs). If your pet is fractious, anxious, or aggressive, please give any pre-visit medications 2 hours prior to the visit — your appointment may be cancelled or rescheduled if at any time we feel it is unsafe or contraindicated to continue.
  • Absolutely! Please let us know how many pets need to be seen at the time of booking so we can schedule enough time for each pet. If we are not made aware of additional pets beforehand, we will do our best to accommodate during the visit but cannot guarantee any additional pets can be seen.
  • If X-rays, ultrasound, or routine surgeries are required, we can book you in with one of our partnered general practice clinics in Richmond. If the case is an emergency or requires a specialist, we will make the referral and let you know the next steps.
  • Yes of course! We want to see your little one get better so we are happy to extend support beyond the initial consult (for the same issue). A new visit and consult is required for any new issues or issues that have resolved but reoccurred after some time.
